Marini Lash Conditioner: The lash solution you’ve been looking for

July 2, 2013 By patkaspian

In 2005, Jan Marini Skin Research revolutionized eyelash enhancement with a technological first that inspired a host of imitators. Now, Jan Marini sets the pace again with their proprietary and non-prostaglandin eyelash formulation.

What is this “prostaglandin,” you might ask? This chemical, which is naturally produced by the body, is often found in drugs to combat glaucoma. Though prostaglandins are safe for use, they are sometimes connected with a darkening of light-colored irises. Jan Marini saw this issue and came up with a formula for long, beautiful lashes without this side effect.

Marini Lash Conditioner’s unique and patent-pending combination of peptides is backed by clinical studies, demonstrating remarkable results with significantly satisfied subjects. No other lash product on the market uses both of the enhancing peptides found in Marini Lash Conditioner. Now you can enjoy amazingly gorgeous, dense and lush eyelashes – the eyelashes of your dreams.

Marini Lash Conditioner includes:

  • Extraordinary enhancement in the appearance of eyelash and brow
  • Delivers gorgeous, dense and lush looking eyelashes
  • Non-prostaglandin technology
  • No eye irritation or risk of discoloration
  • Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist safety tested

Its use is simple: Apply once per day in the evening to the upper lash line. Keep in mind that only a small amount of product is necessary for each application, so please use sparingly. Apply gel with applicator brush, in a thin line, along the upper lash line only at the root area (as though you are applying eyeliner).

Marini Lash Conditioner is available at A French Touch Parisian Skincare Salon in either a two-month or six-month supply. Don’t wait around – try this safe and effective solution today for “come-hither” lashes!

The Ultimate Summer BB Cream

June 4, 2013 By patkaspian

BB Creams are showing up all over beauty publications these days – but what are they, and what do they do?

BB Creams – short for beauty balm or blemish balm – are a unique product in that they are meant not only to provide tinted coverage, but also improve your skin and protect from damaging UVA and UVB rays. This all-in-one product acts as a moisturizer, primer, coverage, and sunscreen to make your beauty routine easier and more streamlined.

A quality BB Cream will:

  • Hydrate, smooth, and prime skin
  • Hide imperfections and even skin tone
  • Treat skin with high quality active ingredients
  • Protect with SPF from UVA/UVB damage

While the benefits of a BB Creams are many, perhaps the most important of its uses is its protection from the sun – damaging rays can not only cause skin cancer, but also allow free radical damage which visibly ages the skin. In fact, a new study released just this week showed that people who apply sunscreen at least once a day see 24% less aging in their skin.

BB Creams are also customizable in that they can be worn different ways for different skin types and preferences. For normal skin it can be worn alone or blended with foundation for higher coverage, for dry skin it can be combined with a preferred moisturizer, and for oily skin it can be used as a primer to control shine and hold makeup in place.

Convinced? Luckily, A French Touch Salon offers the highest quality options for BB Creams from Jan Marini Skin Research.

Michael McCarthy credits his childhood fascination with all things theatrical as the origin of his interest in the transformative power of cosmetics. Initially a performer, Michael’s focus evolved into designing makeup as part of his training at the Cornish College of Fine Arts in his nativeSeattle and later at The American Academy of Dramatic Art in New York. During the 1980s, Michael designed looks as a makeup artist for both high fashion and retail cosmetics in the United States and Europe. He increased his professional scope with an aesthetics license upon his return to Seattle, where he began developing his reputation as an aesthetician with an artistic perspective by consistently incorporating cosmetics as the completion of any client experience. He provided makeup lessons, brow design, bridal makeup and trend updates as frequently as facials. Michael revolutionized the industry in Seattle during the 1990s as the first aesthetician to develop a makeup studio and retail boutique venue within larger salon and day spa businesses. He concurrently honed his theatrical makeup skills as a principal makeup artist for the Seattle Opera.
Michael discovered Colorescience in 2000 when it was first introduced in Makeup Artist Magazine. His enthusiasm for the brand’s innovative benefits led him from being one of the early Pacific Northwest Colorescience partners to feature Colorescience exclusively in his studio, fashion and theatrical work. Drawing from these experiences, Michael continues to advocate the brand’s philosophy of “no sacrificing health for beauty, or beauty for health.” Michael joined the Education team in 2000 and currently travels North America, passionately sharing his keen makeup application expertise with partners and clients as the Colorescience National Makeup Artist.

NEW from Sothys: Reformulated, Paraben-Free Preliminary Care

April 27, 2013 By patkaspian

Screen shot 2013-04-18 at 3.47.16 PMThough it’s nice sometimes to stay rooted in tradition, eventually the modern world catches up with us. So it is with the skincare industry – Sothys has a long legacy of quality, but is also committed to keeping up with the times, and in this case that means revamping their product lines to incorporate advances in the skincare field.

With that, A French Touch Parisian Skincare Salon is proud to present a new product line from Sothys. The Preliminary Care line is a collection of cleansers, lotions, and make-up remover which are botanically-based and paraben-free. It features a set for every skin type, including one specifically designed to mitigate the symptoms of Rosacea.

The term “paraben-free” has been tossed around recently, but what does it really mean? Parabens are chemicals commonly used by cosmetic companies as preservatives and to fight bacteria and fungi. While that sounds like a good thing, recent research has led industry experts to believe that frequent and broad exposure to parabens may lead to health concerns. The issue is controversial and still under scrutiny, but in light of these concerns we are proud to offer the option of paraben-free products.

Sothys took a proactive approach to to this information with this new collection of cleansers and lotions so that you can get the same – or even better – results. The new products have a lovely light scent and texture, and each is formulated for a specific skin type so that you get exactly what your skin needs.

Vitality Cleanser and Lotion:

For normal to combination skin, this set freshens and normalizes the skin using the revitalizing Grapefruit Extract to balance pH levels.

Comfort Cleanser and Lotion:

For sensitive or dry skin, this set uses cotton seed extract to soften the skin and is free of irritating fragrances, dyes, and allergens.

Purity Cleanser and Lotion:

For oily skin, this set captures the power of Iris Extract to balance the hormones that cause oiliness, while also cleansing and killing bacteria. The Purity Lotion uses kaolin powder to absorb excess oil and normalize the skin.

Clarity Cleanser and Lotion:

This brand-new set for fragile skin uses witch hazel to constrict dilated capillaries and reduce the appearance of redness, especially beneficial for couperose or Rosacea-prone skin.

Bi-Phased Makeup Remover:

Opthamology-tested and fragrance-free, this makeup remover works wonders on even stubborn waterproof makeup.

Enjoy luxury and safety as one with this beautiful new line of products, and check our newsletter for specials and promotions! These products will be specially priced and featured at our Mother’s Day Open House on May 4 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Boost your skin this spring with the Jan Marini Glycolic Resurfacing Peel

April 10, 2013 By patkaspian

French Women

Obtaining seriously younger-looking skin is possible, but there are often misconceptions about the process. A common one we hear is that astonishing results may only be achievable through intense treatments from a doctor or dermatologist that have a long recovery time, cause irritation, or require surgery. The truth, however, is that there are alternative options that provide visible results.

Jan Marini’s Glycolic Resurfacing Peel is a medically endorsed, viable alternative to chemical peels, avoiding discomfort and recovery time while still providing dramatic results.

In my experience over the past 12 years in the skincare industry, Jan Marini 40% Glycolic Acid Peels have provided clients with the results they desire. These glycolic acid peels work wonders on reducing fine lines, wrinkles, acne, and hyperpigmentation, and are a gentle procedure requiring zero recovery time. And because they provide visible results, you can bet our clients include this anti-aging treatment in their regular skincare regimen.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND GLYCOLIC ACID PEELS

Glycolic acid,  which is naturally derived from sugar cane, is the most effective alpha-hydroxy acid for anti-aging concerns because of its small molecular weight. Its molecular size allows it to dissolve the “glue-like” substance that causes buildup in the skin’s stratum corneum (the outer layer of the skin), providing deep penetration and exfoliation.

As we age our stratum corneum cannot shed as efficiently, so it builds up over time, creating a common skin issue known as corneocyte cohesion. Corneocyte cohesion results in thick, dry, and coarse skin that plays a pivotal role in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Jan Marini’s 40% Glycolic Acid Peel lifts away these dead, thickened layers without wounding the skin.

EXPECT MORE COLLAGEN AND LESS LINES

The science behind Jan Marini’s 40% glycolic acid peels provides visible results, including:

  • Noticeably firmer, brighter, more supple, and softer skin
  • Significant decrease in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Rapidly cleared acne lesions and reduction in the appearance of acne scarring
  • More even skin tone and minimized hyperpigmentation due to photodamage

MEDICAL VALIDATION

Medical studies confirm that when the skin receives a series of glycolic peels, along with a home care program that includes glycolic acid and retinol, the cumulative action results in the encouragement of collagen as well as glycosaminoglycans responsible for epidermal volume, thus substantially increasing firmness and lessening the appearance of deeper lines.

WHY SPRING IS THE BEST TIME

The Jan Marini Glycolic Resurfacing Peel Series is recommended twice annually as a series of six treatments for a deep “beauty boost,” ideally following summer and winter climate damage and dehydration. Get rid of winter dullness to reveal luminous skin!

OFFERED IN EACH 45-MINUTE FALL RESURFACING TREATMENT:

*  Clarisonic Ultrasonic Deep Pore Cleanse with Jan Marini C’Esta Cleansing Gel

*  40% non-irritating Jan Marini Glycolic Peel

*  Jan Marini Customized Mask to address your individual concerns

*  Gentle Jan Marini Hand Treatment
